1.16 Kg Explosives Recovered From Roadside In Haryana: Police

Chandigarh:

Police recovered an improvised explosive gadget (IED) weighing 1.16 kg from Haryana’s Kaithal district on Monday.

The IED was full of RDX and the restoration was produced from the roadside in a village at Kainchi Chowk on the Jind street, police stated.

Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana Police recovered the IED within the night hours.

“The IED weighs 1.16 kg,” Station House Officer (SHO) of the Titram police station Inspector Ramlal stated over the telephone.

It was stored in an iron field, he added.

The space was sealed and the bomb disposal squad summoned, which defused the explosive, police stated.

A case has been registered below the provisions of the Explosive Substances Act, the SHO stated.

The STF had recovered an IED full of round 1.3 kg of RDX from a spot close to Shahabad in Kurukshetra district final month.

In May, the Haryana Police arrested 4 individuals from Karnal and three IEDs packed in a metallic case, weighing 2.5 kg every, and a pistol have been seized from their possession.

In March, three reside hand grenades have been recovered from a abandoned floor close to a public faculty in Sadopur village, near the Ambala-Chandigarh freeway.
