A sub-divisional Justice of the Peace (SDM) and different officers had been crushed up by the suspected liquor mafia in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on Tuesday once they tried to intercept a liquor-laden truck, police mentioned.

The incident occurred when the officers had been following the truck of their automobile and tried to intercept it close to a dhaba at Haldi village, 14 km away from sub-district headquarters Kukshi.
“About half a dozen people sitting in an SUV which was accompanying the truck came out and attacked the officials. They also tried to take away the truck,” he mentioned.
Mr Singh mentioned the attackers pressured the naib tehsildar to sit down of their SUV and fired on the workforce of officers.
On receiving the knowledge, a police workforce rushed to the spot and freed the naib-tehsildar and arrested one particular person. The liquor-laden truck was impounded, he mentioned.
