Man Arrested For Heckling Prince Andrew At Queen’s Funeral Procession


The 22-year-old was charged with “breach of the peace on the Royal Mile”.

A person has been arrested after heckling Prince Andrew throughout the procession for Queen Elizabeth’s coffin. 

According to a video going viral on the web, all of the Queen’s youngsters, together with the King, have been strolling behind her coffin when the person shouted “Andrew, you’re a sick old man”. He was then shortly faraway from the group and detained by the police, the Independent reported. 

Another video on Twitter confirmed the person being pulled to the ground by a police officer. He was heard shouting “disgusting” whereas being led away by a cop. A third video confirmed the person sitting handcuffed and flanked by two cops. 

As per the outlet, a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the person’s arrest. In an announcement, the cop acknowledged, “A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile around 2.50pm on Monday, 12 September 2022.”

Breach of the peace, often known as disturbing the peace, is a type of disorderly conduct, which will be punishable by as a lot as 12 months in jail and/or a nice of as much as 5,000 kilos in Scotland.

The arrest got here because the Queen’s coffin was being taken from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to  St Giles’ Cathedral within the Scottish capital. The Queen’s son, King Charles III, walked behind the coffin alongside Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Prince Edward. 

All three of Prince Andrew‘s siblings have been wearing armed forces uniforms. But he was not, having been stripped of his army patronages and roles in February by his mom following a sexual assault scandal ensuing from a lawsuit filed by Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre the earlier 12 months.
