UP BJP Leader Forges Bureaucrat’s Signature For Securing Loan, Arrested

Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh):

A BJP chief in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh has been arrested for allegedly forging the signature of his IAS officer nephew and securing a mortgage of Rs 1.62 crore, a senior police official stated on Tuesday.

The accused, recognized as Ravi Pratap Singh, was arrested on Monday night, Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil stated.

The case dates again to 2020 when IAS officer Abhay Singh registered a dishonest grievance towards his maternal uncle Ravi Pratap Singh.

In his grievance, Abhay Singh had alleged that his uncle had cast his signature and brought a mortgage from The Urban Co-operative Bank.

Mr Antil stated the signatures had been discovered to be pretend throughout the course of the investigation.

The accused has been despatched to jail, he added.
